Former Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) student, Linda Stafford, has the code for success as she secures a new job with We are Digital, Warwick Science Park after completing a Diploma in IT at HoW College’s IT Skills Centre.

Linda initially came to the college to complete the IT certificate, however after a lot of hard work, progressed up to and achieved the City and Guilds ITQ Level 2 Diploma. A month after leaving the College Linda went onto to secure a job as a Project Support Administrator at We are Digital.

Talking about how the course has helped her, Linda Said:

“I wouldn’t have been able to get the job without this course! I was self-taught but never had a formal qualification in IT. This course used the most up-to-date version of Microsoft and also helped to build my confidence and gave me the skills needed to get that job.”

Using the skills learnt on the course, Linda now works with a small team on a project called ‘Earn it Don’t Burn it’. The main aim of the project is working with individuals to access financial products and services, helping them to manage their money and earn money online.

Commenting further on how the tutors supported her, Linda added:

“The tutors were really supportive, knowledgeable and patient throughout the course. You felt like you could ask them any question and they adapted to your way of learning so you could get the most out of the course.”

Congratulating Linda on her success, Stuart Harris, IT Training Supervisor, said:

“We are extremely proud of Linda and her achievement with us and are truly delighted that she has now got a job using her hard earned skills.”

As well as working, Linda also plans to enrol onto the Level 3 Microsoft Excel course at HoW College to help further her skills.
