Heart of Worcestershire College’s (HoW College) Level 3 Beauty Therapy student, Jessica Mumford, bids bon voyage to college life as she secures her first job with cruise company, Steiner.

Steiner, has been operating for over 50 years and is proud to employ over 2000 spa professionals every year, giving individuals the opportunity to travel whilst they work.

Jessica, will join the company in August as a Beauty Therapist and provide a range of treatments, from facials to massages, on board the cruise ships.

Talking about the recruitment process, Jessica said:

“The College organised a talk from Steiner, to give us an idea of what to expect on the cruise ships, the roles available and how we could apply.

The interview process was challenging, so I am over the moon to have been selected and can’t wait to begin my training with Steiner.”

Commenting on her time at college, she added:

“The College provides amazing facilities, they have a commercial salon on-site which allows students to practice beauty treatments on their own clients.

Before I started at the College I had never worked in a salon before, so the experience I have gained throughout my course has been invaluable.”

Speaking about the support at the College, she said:

“The tutors have been very helpful to me throughout my two years of studying; without their support I would have struggled to stay motivated and complete my course.”

Looking to the future, Jessica commented:

“I would like to work on the cruise ships for as long as I can, I can’t wait to start travelling the world, meeting new people and earning more work experience. In the future I hope to open my own spa business!”

We wish Jessica the best of luck as she sails into her new career. We’re “shore” she’ll do amazing.
