Extracurricular Activities and Student Ambassadors

Engagement Coaches and Assistants

The Student Experience team can be found on our Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcester campuses. Laura Sankey (Bromsgrove & Redditch) and Lucia Gonzalez Guerrero (Worcester & Malvern) are responsible for planning and running extra-curricular activities. These include the annual Fresher’s fair, campaign weeks and clubs throughout the year. All students receive the monthly newsletter that is created by the Student Experience Coaches and sent to students email boxes. This ensures that all students are keep up to date with all the latest news, events, competitions and future activities.

Our Engagement Assistants, Mickayla Jeffery and Georgia Cleary are on hand in the HoWRU Hub (Monday to Thursday, 11:30am - 2pm) at the Bromsgrove and Redditch campus respectively to provide games, activities and various tournaments for students over the lunchtime period.

Student Ambassadors
Hearing what students have to say is very important to Heart of Worcestershire College and this is achieved with the help of the Student Ambassadors. The Student Experience Coaches manage the Student Ambassador programme to ensure students have a say in the decisions made throughout the college. This is done by involving Student Ambassadors in a range of different focus groups where they can feedback their ideas on what is going well and what the College can do to enhance the student experience. This information is then fed back to the College management team who help to put these ideas and suggestions into action. Student Ambassadors also have opportunities throughout the year to make an impact on the college experience of their peers, working closely with the Student Experience Coaches on each campus to develop and deliver various activities and events for all students to get involved in.
Students have shared below what they enjoyed the most out of the experience: "The chance to connect with other students and use our collective strength and vision to make the college the best possible place it can be." "Working with college staff, giving creative ideas, making the college a safer space for students." "Having meetings with all the rest of the Ambassadors, getting to know each other and what it is like hearing everyone else’s opinions on what they think we should do."
Our Student Experience Team can be found in the HoWRU Hubs in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcester.
