Course overview
If you are keen to develop a career in health and social care and are thinking of going to university, then this is the course for you. Our course will help you explore a range of exciting health and social care topics through classroom study, group discussion, work placements and project work.
In your first year you will study the 90 Credit Diploma and, upon successful completion of this, you will progress to your second year, where you will complete your Extended Diploma. Our course will take your learning to an advanced level and help you gain a new perspective on a range of health and social care issues.

You will also attend a work placement for at least one day a week.

Entry requirements
Applicants must have 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above (A*-C) including English and maths. Alternatively, you will be considered if you have achieved a relevant Level 2 qualification. Entry is subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.
Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.
You will also need to complete a DBS check, attend an interview and provide satisfactory references.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on an ongoing basis through a variety of methods including assignments, practical assessments, case studies and presentations. You will also be observed in the workplace, and evidence from your work placements are integral to the assessment process.
You must complete over 200 work placement hours to complete the course.
What can I do next
Successful completion of the Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, Level 3 will enable you to progress onto higher education such as HNC, HND or degree level.
