Heart of Worcestershire College’s (HoW College) Worcester based Student Experience Officer, Chloe Lakin, has been making big strides this month in a bid to raise money for charity by taking on the task of completing the Cancer Research UK 60 miles in September challenge.

The challenge encourages individuals to run 60 miles in September to help raise awareness and donations for Cancer Research. Those who take part can complete the challenge in whichever way they prefer; you can run 2 miles a day for the whole month or do several longer runs each week, it’s entirely up to the participant!

Speaking about why she decided to take on such a challenge, Chloe said:

“Since lockdown began, getting outside and walking was the only way to feel slightly normal so when this challenge popped up, I definitely felt prepared to tackle it.

I am doing this challenge in memory of my two grandads who sadly passed away from cancer. We lost my first grandad who sadly passed away when I was very young and my second grandad only four years ago this month; therefore, I wanted to complete this challenge and promote the work Cancer Research UK do and raise money along the way!

I can’t thank the people who have donated enough for their support and encouragement to complete this challenge.”

We would like to wish Chloe the very best of luck for the rest of the month in completing her 60 Miles!
