Heart of Worcestershire College's (HoW College’s) BTEC National Extended Diploma in Esports students are currently in the midst of competing at the British Esports Student Open Division 2 Championships in Rocket League!

This year, five students from HoW College have participated, including those who reached the quarterfinals in the previous season, narrowly missing out on the semi- finals. The team is optimistic about their chances this year and aims for success in the championships.

Speaking about the event, one of the Esports student commented:
"We have been working hard since we placed top 8 in last year’s tournament. This year we have learnt from our mistakes and have come out stronger individually and as a team. I believe we have a good chance to go all the way."

Another added:
“We have improved significantly since our last tournament and have only strengthened as a team over time. We are confident this year with the ambition to be at the top.”

This academic year-long league includes both Winter and Spring Leagues. In the Spring League, the top eight teams will advance to the elimination bracket, where the leading teams from the North and South will play to progress through the knockout rounds to claim the Div 2 Champions title. The last 16 stage took place on Wednesday 20th March and was broadcasted on Twitch, where they went on to progress to the quarter finals, which will take place on Wednesday 17th April at 4pm!
