Last month, HE Sports student from Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) made sure they were on par for success as they visited 3 Hammers Golf Club in Wolverhampton.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the industry; Rob Bluck, who shared his expertise, demonstrating how he applies technology into his coaching methods to enhance player performance. From swing analysis to game tactics, students gained valuable insights into the future of golf coaching. The students thenhad the chance to apply their newly learned skills and knowledge into action on the driving range, fine-tuning their swings under Rob’s supervision.

Feeling inspired by the session, one of the HE Sports students commented, ‘The PGA professional Rob was super encouraging and gave very clear, detailed explanations on the data from the trackman and what the results showed. He showed us how he uses technology in action when coaching and gave us feedback on things like club speed, attack angle, swing path etc.’

To add an element of fun to the trip, students also had the chance to test their short game on the Jurassic adventure golf course! Excited by the trip, one of the students commented: ‘The mini golf course was a nice way to finish the trip and the dinosaurs, caves and water features made it super fun’.

The 3 Hammers Club visit allowed the College’s HE Sport students once again combine their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in a real-world environment.
