Former Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) student, Ellie Peters, is flying high as she takes her career to new heights at British Airways as a part of their cabin crew.

Ellie enrolled onto the Level 3 Travel and Tourism course at HoW College’s Worcester campus. The course combines classroom theory with practical application allowing students to progress into the workplace or on to higher education.

Speaking about her experience at college, Ellie said:

“I chose HoW College because of their great facilities such as their travel agency and on-site air cabin. I have always been more of a practical learner so the units worked really well for me as opposed to A-levels.”

On successful completion of her course, Ellie, secured an apprenticeship with HoW College’s on-site independent travel agency, Spires Travel.

Talking about her apprenticeship, Ellie added:

“Working for Spires Travel has really helped build my confidence and has taught me so much about the customer service element of the industry. The College has been so supportive of my journey and they have helped me gain my dream job at British Airways.”

Commenting on Ellie’s success, Spires Travel Manager, Paul Knapper said:

“Ellie has been a pleasure to work with and she has grown so much throughout her apprenticeship. As she takes her next steps into the workplace I have no doubt that she will be successful. Good luck Ellie.”

As Ellie progresses within the Travel and Tourism industry we wish her the best of luck; the sky really is her limit!
