Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) apprentice, Hubaib Altaf, proves that he is more than just a “bright spark” as he completes his Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship with local engineering company, Rock Powers Connections.

Rock Power Connections is an electrical company which specialise in new connections and upgrades to the electricity distribution network.

Since joining the organisation in May 2016, Hubaib has hit the ground running and is set to continue his studies with HoW College as he undertakes the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Talking about Hubaib’s progress, HoW College’s Business Administration Assessor, Vern Littley said:

“It has been great to see how Hubaib’s work and overall employability skills have developed since he started his studying and development. Overall, his attitude to study and development has been excellent.”

Prior to his apprenticeship, Hubaib worked as a Manager in his family restaurant for three years.

Talking about his apprenticeship, Hubaib said:

“Education never stops, you should attend every training courses available to you. Always make notes and create to do lists with time scales and priorities. Find ways to better the customer service in all areas, work smart not hard.”

Advising others on apprenticeships, Hubaib added:

“I would explain to them this route is the best decision I ever made and has developed me in many ways, both personally and in my career, and I hope it would do the same for you.”

A recent survey has shown that 89% of apprentice employers say that taking on an apprentice makes their business more productive with the average ‘completer’ increasing productivity by £214 per week.

In addition, HoW College’s recent Ofsted report highlighted that the standard of apprentices’ work is high and that they contribute well to their employer’s business.
