HoW are we? We’re GOOD!

Celebrations are underway at Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) after it was recognised as a ‘Good Provider’ by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).
Ofsted, the government education inspection body, published its report earlier this week, scoring the College as ‘good’ overall.
The report highlighted that ‘the College provides a harmonious and inclusive environment’, ‘learners benefit from good resources and facilities’, ‘learners and apprentices feel safe at college and in their workplace or work placements’, and that the ‘learners and apprentices are courteous, well behaved and respectful of one another; they benefit from and actively contribute to a positive and inclusive culture evident across the college.’
In addition the inspection also highlighted the positive progression made by students with ‘the vast majority progressing on to a range of positive educational and employment destinations.’
Commenting on his experience of the College, Hospitality and Catering student Sam Maman said:
“As a student at HoW College I am pleased we got a good in our Ofsted inspection. I have been at the College for a year and a half and I have been really happy here and made loads of new friends.
I would recommend the College to anyone; I think it is a safe, friendly environment and it has prepared me for the future.”
Speaking about the ‘good ‘rating, Principal and Chief Executive, Stuart Laverick said:
“We are pleased with the result of this Ofsted inspection. The grading is a great testament to the excellent work we see from staff and students every day. We are extremely proud that Ofsted have recognised the hard-work and improvements made by the College and have confirmed our own self-assessment rating as a ‘good’ college. We look forward to continuing with the College’s work in what promises to be a positive and bright future.”
