Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) has announced the launch of two exciting new part-time courses for the upcoming academic year, aimed at providing clear career pathways into the growing beauty and barbering industries.
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetics and the VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering are now open for applications, and will be delivered at HoW College’s state-of-the-art facilities in Worcester.
The Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetics is ideal for individuals new to the beauty sector who are looking to build foundational knowledge and practical skills in preparation for advanced aesthetic treatments such as skin needling, peeling, and ultrasound. With a curriculum that blends Level 2 and Level 3 content, this part-time course equips students with vital knowledge in skin analysis, facial skincare, anatomy and physiology, and treatment safety protocols - laying the groundwork for Level 4 specialisations.
The Level 2 Diploma in Barbering offers students a hands-on, practical route into the world of men’s grooming. The vocational qualification covers essential techniques such as cutting, styling, shampooing, and client consultation, this course provides learners with the minimum qualifications needed to qualify and register as a barber, with opportunities to progress into hairdressing or even open their own business.
Both qualifications will be assessed through a mix of practical observation, online exams, and electronic portfolios, giving learners a real-world learning experience and confidence to succeed in their chosen careers.
Nicky Carter, Director of Curriculum at HoW College, said: “We are thrilled to expand our Hair and Beauty curriculum with these new qualifications. Whether you're aiming to launch a career in aesthetics or barbering, these courses offer the essential skills, knowledge, and progression routes needed to thrive in one of the fastest growing and evolving industries today.”
