Celebrations are underway at Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) after they were successfully awarded the Highly Commended Award in the Communications Campaign category, at The College Marketing Network’s national FE First Awards 2021.

The FE First Awards are hosted annually by the College Marketing Network recognising, rewarding and celebrating the best in college marketing, with this year’s virtual ceremony taking place on Monday 29th November.

The team at HoW College were recognised as Highly Commended for the College’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) campaigns which centred around key EDI dates and activities within the calendar, with the aim to increase awareness of EDI both internally and externally. The College’s work strived to help others understand different perspectives, current injustices and make real progression towards creating an environment that is accepting of all individuals; including Black Lives Matter, Antisemitism, Consent and Relationships and Gender Equality.

The team have now successfully completed 11 EDI campaigns covering a wide range of topics, have a dedicated EDI section on the College’s website and the College has been highlighted as a case study by the Office for Students (OfS).

Speaking about the award win, Hannah Jones, Head of Marketing & Sales at HoW College, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have received Highly Commended for our EDI Communications Campaign at this year’s FE First Awards. Here at HoW College we continually strive to educate our learners and wider public about EDI topics and we’re extremely pleased that these campaigns are being shared and having a wider impact. This award follows on from our Silver and Highly Commended FE First Awards in 2020 for Prospectus and Internal Impact respectively and I’m very proud that the hard work and efforts of the team here at the College is being recognised.”
