A Leap for a Cause: Mia and Tegan's Charity Skydive for The Royal British Legion

05 June 2025

Mia and Tegan, two determined students from our Uniformed Protective Services course, conquered their fear of heights by taking a breath-taking leap from 14,000 feet – all for a great cause.

During their time studying Uniformed Protective Services, the pair learned the importance of the public sector and the sacrifices made by those who serve and wanted to raise awareness and money for the people who have served their country. Their mission was to raise £1000 for the RBLI (The Royal British Legion), they not only met their goal of £1000 but raised an incredible £1800 altogether, thanks to everyone who donated!

After surpassing their fundraising goal, Mia and Tegan set their sights on the next challenge – their daring skydive.

The day itself was stunning with light winds and clear skies – two nervous but determined students ready for the challenge. By the time they landed, the fear was replaced by exhilaration – every moment of the skydive was truly unforgettable.

Tegan shared the nerve-wracking experience: “One of the craziest Tuesday mornings I’ve experienced. Falling 14,000 feet from the sky at 11am definitely woke me up for the day. I’ve never felt so nervous or excited, I was so scared I could have been sick. The 15-minute plane ride to the clouds felt like forever! But the amazing views and beautiful sunny sky made the jump worth it. Me, Mia and the RBLI can’t thank everybody enough for supporting us with this amazing opportunity. Thank you for making an amazing day happen.”

Mia, reflecting on the dream-like experience of the skydive, shared: “I can't believe the day finally came, it was a fantastic experience. Looking out of the plane window to see trees the size of broccoli and roads like tiny pieces of string. Although the height was daunting, it felt magical as I was falling through the air. I can't thank enough the people who donated to support our skydive. I am ever so grateful to everyone who helped make my dream happen!”

Through courage and determination, Mia and Tegan not only conquered the fears but also made a lasting difference to the people who have served their country.
