A dapper motorcycle ride to raise money for charity!

Mark Tutt, one of Heart of Worcestershire's (HoW College) painting and decorating tutors, is taking part in a sponsored motorcycle ride for men's mental health charities and prostate cancer research and treatment.

On the 22nd of May, Mark Tutt will be suiting up and taking part in the 2022 Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride to raise money for some extremely inspiring and important charities. The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride was founded in 2012 and now has over 100 countries involved and has raised nearly $33 million USD in just 10 years. The theme for this year's ride is old style or vintage motorcycles being ridden by gents - and now also ladies - wearing tweed three-piece suits and other dapper attire!

When speaking to Mark about the charity event he stated:

“My personal reasons for supporting these charities this year, are the death of my father 18 months ago aged 75 due to cancer. Also, my stepson is a wheelchair user (due to cerebral palsy) who copes extremely well with his condition but is lonely, and this has a big effect on his mental health. Few people want to 'hang out' with a disabled person whatever their condition and after 20 years he finds me a bit dad like (boring). So, if anybody has a spare quid or two it all helps your donations will be put to good use.”

As this week is Mental Health Awareness Week it is wonderful to see people coming together to raise money for charities who do so much to help those in need, well done Mark!
