What to expect on the day

This year’s graduation ceremony will take place on Friday 8th September at Worcester Cathedral.

If you are arriving by car, the nearest car park is located on Copenhagen St (See map here).

From there you will need to head over to our All Saints’ building where our friendly staff will welcome you. They will show you where you can pick up your gowns and have your photo taken by professional photographers. Gowns can be picked up from 9am, please note that due to health and safety reasons, we kindly ask that throughout the day you don’t throw your hat in the air.

Once you have collected your gown you can either remain in our All Saints’ building or alternatively, you can head straight to the Cathedral.

Once you arrive at the Cathedral, our Ushers will be there to show you and guests to your seats. Students will be seated in alphabetical order with their classmates, while guests will be sat separately. Seating for guests is not reserved, unless disabled access is required. Please ensure that you and your guests are seated by 11:30am as the ceremony will begin at 12pm.

During the ceremony the Ushers will be on hand to let students know where and when you exactly need to be in preparation for collecting your certificate. Once your name has been read out, you will take a short walk along the front of the podium and collect your certificate. It takes all of a few seconds and again, our Ushers will be on hand to direct you back to your seat.

The ceremony will last approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours. Please remember to not throw your hat in the air once you have graduated.

Before you head off, please remember to return your gowns to our All Saints’ building. The professional photographers will also remain at our All Saints’ building until 3:30pm.
