Course Overview

Level 2 Public Services is an exciting and practical course for learners who are interested in a career in the uniformed public services, such as the police, fire and rescue service, armed forces, ambulance service, or prison and probation services.

The course helps students develop the knowledge, skills and personal qualities needed to succeed in public service roles. Learners will explore topics such as the role of public services, teamwork, leadership, communication, health and fitness, and equality and diversity. There is a strong focus on developing discipline, confidence and resilience through practical activities and scenario‑based learning.

This qualification is ideal for students who want to progress to a Level 3 Public Services course, an apprenticeship, or employment within the public services, while building valuable transferable skills for any career pathway.

Equipment needed for this course is a sports kit, pens and paper.

Entry requirements

An average grade profile of grade 3's, with a minimum of a grade 2 in English and Maths.
