UAL Diploma in Performing and Production Arts, Level 2

Course overview

Interested in pursuing a future in performance but not yet ready for level 3 study? This course is designed to provide a full time introduction to performance and production that gives students a broad diagnostic experience and develops an understanding of performing arts as a collaborative activity.

Students will have access to our specialist theatre, Spires Theatre, where they will put on performances to the public throughout the year. With equal focus on drama, singing and dance the level 2 programme of study will give you a broad understanding of the performing arts sector and help you develop the skills you need to progress and fine tune your craft.

During this course we regularly invite speakers and practitioners from a variety of disciplines within the industry.

Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs (Grade 3 and above) or (A*-D) including English and maths.

Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview, applicants will also need to attend an audition. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed on an ongoing basis through practical performances and written assignments. Your written work will contain self- evaluations of your own performances.

This course will open up opportunities to continue studying performing arts at a higher level, including our UAL Diploma/ Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts, Level 3.
