Course overview

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Women’s Hairdressing is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a hairdresser.

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a hairdresser including units such as Cutting women’s hair, colour and lighten hair, shampoo and condition hair and scalp, art of dressing hair, health and safety and client care.

As you progress, you will begin to take on more demanding roles. This course provides you with the minimum qualification needed to qualify and register as a Hairdresser, so you can become a Junior Stylist as soon as you finish your last assignment!

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through practical observations, online exams and completion of an electronic portfolio of your work.

What can I do next

At the end of the qualification, you can further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking a level 3 qualification in hairdressing which is equivalent to A levels.
