Diploma in Beauty Therapy, Level 2
The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Beauty Specialist Techniques is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a beauty therapist.
This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a beauty therapist including units such as facial skincare, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, make-up, manicure and pedicure, health and safety and client care.
You may also have the opportunity to further develop your understanding and skills by completing additional units such as waxing.
Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and cosmetic beauty products and equipment. You will also develop a range of technical skills enabling you to prepare the skin, and apply a variety of skincare, eyelash and brow and make-up products using different techniques. You will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
A 1 day a week course which comprises of a combination of theory lessons to learn and understand the anatomy and physiology behind each beauty therapy unit, and through practical lessons where you will work on others in your group to demonstrate each service and an additional one hour independent learning

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through practical observations, online exams and completion of an electronic portfolio of your work.
What can I do next
At the end of the qualification you can further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking a level 3 qualification in beauty which is equivalent to A levels.
