Course Overview

The VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a hairdresser.

This is a vocational qualification and includes all the required elements to work effectively as a barber including units such as Cutting, styling, shampoo and conditioning.

As you progress, you will begin to take on more demanding roles. This course provides you with the minimum qualification needed to qualify and register as a Barber.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through practical observations, online exams and completion of an electronic portfolio of your work.

What can I do next

At the end of the qualification, you can further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking a level 2 qualification in hairdressing You will also be open to a range of careers including (but not limited to):
- Junior Hair Stylist
- Hairdresser
- Salon Assistant
- Salon Manager
- Cruise Line Stylist
- Freelance/Self employed
