Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying (part time adults only)
Course Overview
This Level 1 Diploma is a practical, introductory bricklaying programme designed for adults with little or no prior experience. It progressively builds foundational skills in masonry and construction setting techniques, balancing workshop practice with classroom theory.
Because the course is structured as part-time (one day per week), it’s ideal for adults who are working, changing careers, or upskilling gradually. Over the duration of the course (typically 30–36 weeks / one academic year), learners cover the same core content as full-time students, just spread across weekly sessions.
For this course you will need:
Steel toe-capped safety footwear (required each session).
High-visibility vest/jacket.
Safety glasses and gloves (as specified by the college).
Tools & Stationery
Tape measure (e.g., 5 m builder’s tape).
Notebook / notepad for theory notes and portfolio tracking.
Pens, pencils, ruler.
Folder / binder for storing worksheets, portfolios and evidence.
Entry requirements
Must be aged 19 years of age or older.
