Essential Digital Skills – Level 1
Course Overview
The EDSQ Level 1 qualification builds on Entry 3 to develop confident, independent digital users who can apply essential digital skills in work and everyday life. Learners refine their ability to use devices and manage information, create and edit digital content, communicate effectively online, complete online transactions, and stay safe and responsible when using digital services. At Level 1, tasks become more practical and workplace focused, enabling learners to solve real digital problems, navigate online platforms independently, and progress toward further digital learning or employment.
Entry requirements
Learners will be invited to complete an initial assessment which will help us to determine the right course for you.
Course Modules
Using devices and handling information: using hardware and software, searching and navigating.
- Creating and editing: using apps to enter and edit information, using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Communicating: sending and receiving communications – includes using Microsoft Outlook
- Transactions: e-commerce, buying online and making comparisons.
- Being safe and responsible online: being safe online, protecting your data, etc.
