Art and Design

Pearson Diploma in Creative Arts and Performance (Vocational Studies), Level 1

Course Overview

Do you want to pursue a creative subject but lack the grades to do so? Our Level 1 Diploma in Art, Performance and Production course will give you a grounding in key aspects of creative study, giving you the skills and experience to advance onto further study within the area.

Using our specialist studios, workshops and performance spaces in Worcester you will be given a strong grounding in the creative arts whilst developing your own skills and specialisms. This course is predominately Performing Arts based, however it does contain Art and Design lessons in addition to this. Within the course you will have the opportunity to devise, rehearse and perform to a public crowd as well as developing practical art outcomes for an end of year exhibition.

During this course you will be invited to meet with specialist practitioners and are encouraged to visit galleries, both locally and some of the more acknowledged contemporary galleries within the UK.

Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.

At the beginning of each course students will be expected to pay a studio fee, which will be discussed on application and interview. This will enable all students to attend a trip to a performance or art gallery, and provide all students with an Art Kit to use on a daily basis.

Students will also have access to industry standard performance and rehearsal spaces (Spires Theatres) as well as Art and Design spaces to experiment and produce work.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements however applicants would be expected to demonstrate interest in the creative arts.
