Chloe's Story:

Chloe was just 16 years old when she signed up for the Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor Standard apprenticeship. She already had obtained an excellent set of GCSE grades and showed plenty of knowledge and experience in hospitality as she had been working in a pub/restaurant since the age of 14 years. Chloe was extremely confident and eager to get on and prove that at 16 she was capable of achieving the level 3 standard.

Chloe worked extremely hard with her theory tasks, sourcing information from colleagues, the internet and further reading when she could. She would regularly read around the subject to make sure she had a complete understanding.

Chloe’s work ethic was incredible. Working full time and learning all aspects of running a busy restaurant/hotel. She grasped the concepts very quickly and was soon able to turn her hand from receptionist, to bar to restaurant to housekeeping-all areas she did with a smile on her face and with great enthusiasm.

She organised pub quizzes and live music events- all of which she marketed and sold tickets herself, putting on promotional cocktails and drinks to boast sales throughout the events. In the summer months she planned her business project to promote and run small weddings from a marquee on the restaurant’s fields; this was such a fantastic idea, that the owner has agreed to let her start this next summer.

Chloe also took her personal licence award and a Cellar Management course alongside her apprenticeship, which she passed with Distinction.

In the future, Chloe is hoping to progress onto the Level 4 Management course.
