How to Apply

How to apply for a course online

If you are interested in applying for a course but are unsure where to begin then please follow the guidelines below:

Full time, Part time and Professional courses

We start to take applications for our full, part time and professional courses a year before the course starts, apply as early as possible to give yourself the best chance of getting onto a courses as some courses are very popular and fill up quickly. There is no need to wait for your exam results.

Applying for your chosen course

Our website allows you to browse, apply and check your status online. You can either search for a particular course, or scroll through the list of courses available. By clicking on the “A-Z Course List” link, you will be able to access specific course details such as entry requirements, course content and progression opportunities.

Once you have decided on your choice of course, click the “Apply Online” button and select your preferred campus. You can add a maximum of two courses. You will then have to log in or register to progress to the next stage of completing the online application form. The application form needs to be completed in one go and will ask you details regarding the following information, please make sure you have this information to hand before starting:

  • The course/programme that you would like to study
  • Your personal details, i.e. contact details
  • Previous schools / colleges that you have attended
  • Your qualifications (or expected qualifications)
  • Learning difficulties / disabilities
  • References (we require the contact details for a referee that can recommend you)
  • Criminal convictions.

Please answer all of the questions. Any questions marked with an asterix (*) are mandatory and must be completed to move on to the next stage. When you have completed all the fields within the form, simply click the “Submit Application” button to finalise your application.

You can also request a printed application form from the College reception. Once you have completed the form you can return it by post or hand it in to any of our receptions.

You can check the status of your application at any time by accessing the “My Applications” link through the Quicklinks menu at the top of the screen and entering your login details.

Higher Education courses

For all our full time Higher Education courses you should apply through the Universities & Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS) using Apply – an online application system. Information about the application process and the online application form can be found at www.ucas.com

It is important that you remember that the Heart of Worcestershire College’s UCAS code number is H19. You must enter this clearly on your application to ensure that it reaches us for consideration. It is important that you maximise the impact of your application by meeting the UCAS deadlines and by making the most of the space provided for your personal statement.

UK students (via school or college)

If you are applying from a UK school or college, your teacher or careers advisor will be able to support you with your application and guide you through the process.

Independent UK applicants

If you are applying independently within the UK, you can seek advice from various organisations who will support you with your application. The most comprehensive source of information about how to apply is available on the UCAS website.
