Spires Restaurant at Heart of Worcestershire College!

The High Sheriff of Worcestershire, Mr Maynard Burton, officially opened Heart of Worcestershire (HoW) College’s Spires Restaurant at a VIP evening attended by local partners and supporters of the College. 

Spires Restaurant is HoW College’s training restaurant, where Hospitality and Catering students gain invaluable real-world experience by preparing and serving meals to guests. Based at the College’s Worcester campus, the restaurant will welcome members of the public every Wednesday evening, during term time, from this month onwards.

Mr Burton commented: "It was a privilege to officially open Spires Restaurant and witness first-hand the exceptional talent, professionalism and dedication of Heart of Worcestershire College students.  

“The outstanding food and service delivered on the evening demonstrated the high standards being achieved through this fantastic real-world learning environment. 

He added: “Spires is far more than a restaurant; it is a place where students can develop the skills, confidence and experience that will help them thrive in their future careers. I congratulate everyone involved in bringing this impressive facility to life and wish Spires Restaurant at HoW College every success as a showcase for student talent and a valued asset for the wider Worcestershire community." 

Michelle Dowse, CEO & Principal at HoW College, said: “Spires Restaurant allows the public to experience the fantastic talent and creativity of our Hospitality and Catering students, who are  developing their skills in a real working environment, gaining hands-on experience in both food preparation and customer service. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase what they’ve learnt in a fully operational restaurant environment.”

Throughout the year, there will be an inclusion of themed menus showcasing the versatility of students' skills, including A La Carte dining, International Pie Week, Seafood Night with Gareth Fulford from Purslane, Tasting Menus, and Burns Night. A Christmas Dinner is also available on 25th November 2nd & 9th, 16th December.

Spires Restaurant will be open during term time on Wednesday evenings; the bar will be open from 6pm and bookings are 6.30pm - 7.15pm.
