Extended Certificate in Business, Level 2
Business is all around us. Everyday, we use a variety of businesses; your school is a business, your driving instructor is a business and where you buy your lunch is too!
The Level 2 Extended Certificate in Business is a great base to learn about a huge range of businesses that operate nationally and internationally as well as giving you the skills and knowledge to setup a business of your own.
You will explore the main functions and operations within business organisations including marketing and promotion, accounts and finance, sales and retail, and human resources and recruitment. Learn about the principles of a successful business and develop skills to support progression to level 3 or employment.
You will have the opportunity to take part in course related trips to local businesses such as Cadbury and Alton Towers. You will also take part in work experience where you will be able to apply your knowledge.
Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.
Applicants require 4 GCSEs (A*-D) or (Grade 3 and above) to include English and maths or BTEC equivalent at merit grade. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.
Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through projects and coursework. Your assessments will be based on real-life situations and you will be expected to show your knowledge of business concepts in your work. There are no exams. Whilst there is no set uniform, you will be required to wear industry standard business attire throughout your course.
What can I do next
On successful completion of the course you could progress to our Extended Diploma in Business Level 3. Alternatively, you could undertake an apprenticeship or pursue employment in a range of junior roles including administration, marketing, sales and finance.
