Every business is a business and the level 2 extended Certificate in Business is perfect for you if you have a clear goal for your career path or if you are yet undecided about which career path of industry you want to pursue for your career.
The course will provide you with knowledge, experience and skills that you can apply to any business. You will learn about marketing, finance, customer service, leadership and team work with the opportunity to take part in course related trips and visits and experience business first hand through a work experience placement, through which you can apply your learning.
You will explore how different business organistions are structured and run, how they build relationships with their customers, how they manage their money and what they do to look after their staff.
You will learn through a range of means including case studies, lectures, group discussion and independent study. The course is assessed through course work which includes written and practical assignments, as well as external examination
Applicants require 4 GCSEs (A*-D) or (Grade 3 and above) to include English and maths or BTEC equivalent at merit grade. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.
Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through projects and coursework. Your assessments will be based on real-life situations and you will be expected to show your knowledge of business concepts in your work. There are no exams. Whilst there is no set uniform, you will be required to wear industry standard business attire throughout your course.
What can I do next
On successful completion of the course you could progress to our Extended Diploma in Business Level 3. Alternatively, you could undertake an apprenticeship or pursue employment in a range of junior roles including administration, marketing, sales and finance.
