- English and Maths, where required
- Community projects and activities within the local area
- Sport and physical activity
- Opportunities to develop confidence, teamwork and independence

Course Information
There are no formal entry requirements.
Published entry requirements represent the typical entry standard for each programme.
Applications from learners who do not fully meet these requirements may still be considered under certain circumstances. Final admission decisions remain at the discretion of the College.
For information about specific course requirements, please contact our Admissions Team: feadmissions@howcollege.ac.uk
Please note that these entry requirements are for new students who aren’t currently enrolled at the College.
Learners who successfully complete and engage with Pathways may be invited to progress onto our follow-on programme, Impact, which starts in January.
Impact is a 22-week personal development programme which builds on the work completed during Pathways. It follows a similar approach but gives learners a longer period to develop their confidence, personal and employability skills as well as an additional Award qualification, English and Maths and prepare for their next steps.
The Impact programme will run through to 17th June 2027.
There may also be opportunities for learners who were unable to secure a Pathways place to join Impact in January, subject to places being available at that time.
