Trinity High School Take-Over!

On Thursday 14th November, Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW College) invited a group of students from Trinity High School to experience a hospitality and catering taster day.

The students, who visited HoW College’s Redditch campus, worked in the College’s Archers Restaurant presenting their skills in hospitality and catering. The students working in the kitchen learnt how to make and present food at industry standard under the pressure of time, whilst the other students put their communication skills to work by greeting and seating customers at their tables. The students also learnt how to properly lay a table and pour water into customers’ glasses.

The students gained knowledge on what the work ethic would be like in an authentic commercial kitchen and how to keep up with the fast-paced workflow of a restaurant.

The purpose of the workshop was to provide the learners with an insight into college life, and to help the students develop their interest in the hospitality and catering industries.

Thanking the College for this opportunity, Head of Food at Trinity High School, Mrs Cadman said:

“A very big thank you to HoW College for last week, the students had a fantastic experience and the guests were all very impressed with the students and the food.”

HoW College prides itself on being able to provide new and exciting opportunities for students from external organisations.
