FE Awards in Bromsgrove

Heart of Worcestershire College’s (HoW College) students, staff, local sponsors and governors recently came together to celebrate two nights of achievement at the Further Education Awards.

The first ceremony took place at Worcester Cricket Club and recognised the outstanding students from the Worcester and Malvern campuses and the second award ceremony took place at Bromsgrove School and recognised the incredible students from the Redditch and Bromsgrove campuses. Both nights celebrated the hard work, determination, and outstanding work of all the students.

Across the two evenings there were a total of 68 awards handed out to students; this included various titles such as outstanding achievement and student of the year awards in their respective areas. Both nights also included congratulating this year's overall Students of the Year which were awarded to Lauren Band for Worcester and Malvern and Charlie Hargreaves for Bromsgrove and Redditch.

HoW College welcomed two guest speakers at the events. At the Worcester ceremony, Leader of Worcester City Council, Marc Bayliss, joined the celebrations as guest speaker and discussed the importance of education and work life for the students. He also talked with passion about his time at the College and how that has helped shape his future.

At the Bromsgrove ceremony, HoW College welcomed Graeme Anderson, Chief Executive of Bromsgrove Housing Trust, as the guest speaker for the evening. During Graeme's speech he highlighted how certain people can be influential on your journey and he also described his own experiences in a relatable way for the students.

This is a great night for the College as it recognises the hard work and determination of its students.
