Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism, Level 2

Course overview

This intermediate course is a great first step into the world of travel, tourism and events. It mixes classroom-based learning with some practical activities. Our course begins with an overview of the travel and tourism industry and you will learn about the different job roles available to you in this sector. You will also explore local visitor attractions and key destinations across the UK and Europe. Our supportive, knowledgeable team have extensive industry experience extending over Travel Retail, Overseas Resort Operation, Cabin Crew, Cruising, Conference and Event Organisation, Tourist Information Centre, Adventure Tourism and Hospitality roles.

Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.

Entry requirements

Applicants require 4 GCSEs grade 3 or above (A*-D) including English and maths. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level and course.

How will I be assessed?

You will complete one online exam and a range of written assignments, presentations and practical activities. Your attendance will be split over four days and you will be expected to carry out private study at home or in our study centre.

What can I do next

With GCSE grade C English and maths, a minimum merit profile for level 2 and positive attendance and behaviour report can apply for our Diploma/Extended in Aviation, Events, Travel and Tourism Level 3, followed by a Foundation Degree in Travel and Tourism Management.
