UAL Diploma/Extended in Digital Music Production & Performance Technology, Level 3
Do you have a passion for creating your own music? Ever wanted to create your own music video? Have you dreamt of a career in the music industry?
From recording and production to live sound and multimedia to work backstage, music technology covers a range of exciting areas and our extended diploma will introduce you to this dynamic industry. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest studio, live and computer-based technologies, and develop the skills you need to progress to higher education or a job in the industry. You will have the chance to produce your own music, make a music video, produce radio shows and even develop the technical and saftey skills required to work backstage.
Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.
Applicants require 5 GCSEs (A*-C) or (grade 4 and above) including English and maths. You do not need to have any prior music qualifications however, it is a requirement that you will need to either play a musical instrument or sing as the course contains music performance units on both years. You will be required to pass a musical audition, written test and interview to demonstrate your competency for the course and your knowledge of your own instrument or singing style.
Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed on an ongoing basis through written and practical tests and given either a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade.
What can I do next
Upon successful completion of this course you can continue onto a Foundation Degree or HND in Music Production, or a HND or BA (Hons) course at university.
You can also progress into employment in the music industry in a variety of roles including; Sound Engineer, Producer, Live Sound and Stage Technician and Events Planner.
