Introduction to Sign Language

Course overview

5 week Introduction to Sign Language

British Sign Language (BSL) is the first language of deaf people in the UK, however there are many thousands of users who aren’t deaf, who learn the skills to aid those who need communication support.

The tutor for this course has over 25 years experience in teaching and delivering different accredited British Sign Language courses -accredited by Signature – the leading awarding body for deaf communication qualifications in the UK.

This short introductory course consists of a couple of modules all geared towards helping you learn how to communicate using British Sign Language. There is a short assessment at the end of the 5 weeks at which point learners will know if they want to continue onto a L1 accredited course.

Students will have to bring their own pen, paper and folder.

Please note this course depends on minimum student numbers to run, we therefore do not recommend you purchase any equipment until the course is confirmed as going ahead. You will be fully refunded the course fee should the course be cancelled.
