Starting Photography

Course overview

Are you at home behind the lens with all the gear but no idea?

Our Starting Photography course is perfect to get you on your way to switch off the Auto setting and capture that perfect picture.

This course is designed for beginners with no previous knowledge or experience in photography. Throughout the course you will examine basic portrait and landscape styles, apply your new skills to your own work and be taught how to use equipment confidently.

After grasping the essential principles of photography, you will look at what makes a successful photograph. You will gain an understanding about "what's in the frame" and be introduced to simple composition principles. Although technical explanations are a feature of the course we try and keep them to a minimum.

There are seven Classroom sessions and three outdoors visits. The location shoots take place at the weekend at local venues and are arranged in consultation with the students. These are an integral part of the learning experience.

Bromsgrove Campus - Wednesday Evenings – 7pm-9pm

Worcester Campus - Tuesday Evenings - 7pm-9pm

This course will be delivered by an experienced and enthusiastic tutor with a thorough knowledge of Photography. There will also be a guest speaker.

You will need to bring your own camera to every session. You can also bring any other photographic equipment you may have.

Please note this course depends on minimum student numbers to run, we therefore do not recommend you purchase any equipment until the course is confirmed as going ahead. You will be fully refunded the course fee should the course be cancelled.
