Award in Manicure and Gel Nails
This qualification is about providing manicure and gel nail services to clients.
This qualification aims to enable you to enhance the ranges of services and techniques offered to nail services clients.
This qualification also covers the skills and knowledge required to prepare for the service and maintain effective health, safety and hygiene working practices throughout the treatment.
Basic equipment is provided for this course.

Learners must be dedicated to studying at home for theory exams and practicing the skills that they have been taught at college.
This qualification is about providing manicure services to clients. It covers consulting with the client, recognising any contra-indications, preparing for the service and producing a service plan. It also covers filing and buffing the nails, using skin and cuticle treatments, massaging the hand and lower arm and providing a suitable nail finish.
The VTCT Level 2 Award in LED Gel Polish Techniques is a single unit award qualification about applying, maintaining and removing LED gel polish products to the nails.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is progressive and unit based involving both practical and written assessments with credit being given for skills as they are practiced within our on-site salons.
The qualifications that are achieved on this course are VRQ level 2 awards, which are validated by the awarding body VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust).
Learners must complete the below assessments throughout this course:
> Two online theory exams for Manicure
>Practical observations to pass all elements of the course, covering a range of treatments on different clients.
