Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing (Part-Time)

Course overview

Are you interested in pursuing a career in hairdressing? Do you have a passion for learning about hairdressing and developing new skills? This course is designed for 19+ learners and balances theory with some great hands-on experience. At one of our onsite salons you will learn how to complete client consultation, shampooing and conditioning the hair, styling, dressing and finishing the hair, basic cutting and colouring techniques. You will carry out reception duties, offer advice to customers and promote products and services to clients.

Entry requirements

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 1 qualification in hairdressing and/or a successful interview

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is progressive and unit based with credit being given for skills as they are practiced within Fountains or Fusion. The qualification that is achieved on this course is NVQ level 2 hairdressing, which is validated by the awarding body VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust).

What can I do next

At the end of the qualification you can further develop your knowledge and skills by undertaking a technical level qualification in hairdressing at Level 3 or progress into a career as a newly qualified junior stylist in various contexts such as commercial salons, independent/self-employed/mobile/home-based.
