Diploma in Design Engineering, Level 2

Course overview

This engineering course will teach you the core skills in product design, engineering techniques and additive manufacturing (3D Printing) needed to take your designs from an idea to prototype. The Level 2 Design Engineering programme mixes creative design techniques and engineering fundamentals, giving you the skills and knowledge needed to gain an Apprenticeship in Engineering or progress into Level 3.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) including English and maths or Electrical Installation, level 1. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

How will I be assessed?

This programme will be assessed by a variety of assessment methods including; written assessments, practical assessments, presentations and group tasks.

What can I do next

Following the Level 2 course, you can progress onto the Leve 3 in Design Engineering at HoW College.

Once you have successfully completed your Level 2 Diploma you will need to gain experience with an engineering company to become a qualified Design Engineer.
