National Extended Diploma in Design Engineering, Level 3

Course overview

Combining engineering techniques and creative design, this course will teach you how to develop innovative design solutions using the latest engineering technologies, such as 3D printing and virtual reality.

The Level 3 Design Engineering programme combines engineering skills and knowledge with creative applications of computer based engineering, covering both mechanical and electrical theory to prepare you for a career in the modern engineering industry.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) including English, maths and science. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

What can I do next

Once you have successfully completed your level 2 and 3 diploma you will need to gain experience with an engineering company to become a qualified Design Engineer; this will allow you to gain an appreciation of a range of engineering disciplines to support entry into a range of career opportunities.

This course also open opportunities to progress onto higher education, university or into a engineering apprenticeship.
