Level 2 Technical Certificate in Plastering (Solids) (Part Time)

Course overview

The Level 2 in Plastering is ideal if you have some knowledge and basic skills in Plastering - probably from a role where you work under supervision. You want recognition for your skills, giving you the chance to take on more responsibility.

Learners could progress into employment as a plasterer, onto an apprenticeship, or further their studies by taking other qualifications at Level 3.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade 4 or grade C in maths and English.

Course Modules

Compulsory topics include:

-The principles of construction
-Internal plastering and fixing sheet materials
-Applying external plain rendering
-Floor screed systems
-Direct bond, taping and jointing
-Health and Safety

How will I be assessed?

A number of assessment methods are used including direct observation, multiple choice tests and discussions.

What can I do next

The Level 2 in Plastering could lead to a job as a plasterer, working for a house building company, a property development company, or as part of a small business repairing and refurbishing buildings.  It could also lead to an apprenticeship in plastering. Or you could progress to a Level 3 Advanced Plastering course.
