Diploma in Computing, Level 2

Course overview

Take your first steps towards a career in the IT industry. This course covers computer networking essentials, different types of hardware and software as well as how to create websites, programs and mobile apps.

Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.

Entry requirements

Applicants require 4 GCSE’s grade 3 and above (A*-D) to include English and maths. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a combination of coursework activities, such as short tests, reports, practical activities and projects.

You will have the chance to work with local businesses to create products for them, thus building your portfolio in a real working environment.
