Diploma in Business Administration, Level 2

Course overview

This course is a great base to learn about a huge range of businesses that operate nationally and internationally as well as giving you the skills and knowledge to setup a business of your own.

You will explore the main functions and operations within business organisations including marketing and promotion, accounts and finance, sales and retail, and human resources and recruitment.

Whilst there is no set uniform, you will be required to wear industry standard business attire throughout your course.

Students will also take part in educational trips and visits to national and local businesses and receive talks from industry experts. Students will also undertake a
minimum 100 hours work placement and evidence for assessment is collected from real working environments.


Please note that this course is predominantly aimed at 16 to 19 year olds.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs (A*-D) or (Grade 3 and above) to include English and maths or BTEC equivalent at merit grade. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory reference and interview.

Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through projects and coursework. Your assessments will be based on real-life situations and you will be expected to show your knowledge of business concepts in your work. There are no exams.

What can I do next

On successful completion of the course you could progress to our Extended Diploma in Business Level 3. Alternatively, you could undertake an apprenticeship or pursue employment.
