Local Partnerships Prove There's Strength in Numbers

Partnerships between Heart of Worcestershire College, Worcestershire's Premier Arts Venue, Artrix and Bromsgrove District Council are proving that when it comes to local businesses there's strength in numbers.

The three organisations have collectively worked together providing local students, residents and visitors with an exciting cultural hub in the heart of Bromsgrove.

The partnerships have seen Bromsgrove District Council invest £60,000 to support the local arts venue, whilst the College's longstanding relationship with Artrix allows Creative Arts students the opportunity to have access to the site to stage performances, host art exhibitions and gain valuable work experience.

Most recently the College hosted their annual Higher Education graduation ceremony at the venue, marking the fantastic success of their students. The ceremony was also attended by BBC Midlands Today presenter Mary Rhodes who reiterated the importance of forming relationships with local businesses and working together.

Speaking about the partnerships Heart of Worcestershire College Principal, Stuart Laverick, said:

"Here at Heart of Worcestershire College we're extremely pleased and proud to be involved in such positive relationships with local businesses and organisations. By working together with Bromsgrove District Council, and Artrix we have been able to provide our students with fantastic opportunities to enhance their studies and gain valuable experience."

Councillor Margaret Sherrey, Bromsgrove District Council, added:

"It was a wonderfully fulfilling day for the graduates after years of study. They all looked so proud in their caps and gowns with lots of smiles that would have brightened the dullest of days. I felt very honoured to share their day.

I am sure also that the tutors shared in their moment of achievement."
