HoW College students put the customer first

Earlier this month Hair and Beauty, Level 2, students from Heart of Worcestershire College put customer care at the forefront of their studies when they visited House of Fraser for a talk on customer service skills.

The students, who are currently studying for their customer service qualification, attended the Worcester store to meet with Senior Sales Manager, Matthew Faraday, who proceeded to conduct a store tour discussing the different customers and the service they receive in various departments. The students were then informed about the stores ‘mystery shopper’ programme, before hearing about the customer service given on the various in-store beauty counters.

Speaking about the visit, Andrea Pulley Level 2 beauty student, said:

“The information about customer service was fascinating and it was interesting to find out how to approach and speak to customers. I will adapt the skills I learnt to help with my customer service and retail within college.”

Matthew Faraday, Senior Sales Manager, at the store said:

”At House of Fraser delivering excellent customer service is a huge priority which helps us to stand out from the competition. People have a choice of where to shop and it is important that our customers are treated like VIP’s so they enjoy their shopping experience and are encouraged to visit us again.”
