Heart of Worcestershire College’s (HoW College) public service students recently took part in a ‘Meet the Marines’ experience at the outdoor activity centre, Aztec Adventure, Upton Warren.

The students got an insight into life within an active commando unit and the chance to experience some of the marine’s operational procedures, which helped to improve leadership and team working skills.

Speaking about the experience, the students, said:

‘The Meet the Marines day was really useful for our group because it gave us a chance to work with other people that we had never met before which pushed us out of our comfort zones. It inspired us to achieve more than we might have thought we could.’

The students had the opportunity to participate in several activities including a climbing wall, high, mid and low rope areas, zodiac boats, unarmed combat, close quarter battle (laser quest), weapon familiarisation and various other procedures.
