Course overview

Are you passionate about the beauty industry? Can you see yourself working on a cruise liner or owning your own salon? Do you want a job role that's front facing? Our NVQ Level 3 builds on the knowledge and skills you have gained from the Level 2 course to give you a deeper insight into the industry. Learn how to carry out facial and body electrotherapy treatments, body massage and microdermabrasion. You will also learn how to promote products and services, health and safety, as well as contribute to the effectiveness of a business through administration and salon management to enable you to meet the high expectations of the industry.

We have on-site salons Fountains and Fusion which are both open to the public. During the course, you will gain real world experience through treating paying clients. You will also learn how to manage the reception desk, promote products and contribute to the financial effectiveness of a business.

Entry requirements

You must have a relevant Level 2 qualification. Entry will be subject to a satisfactory interview. As part of your interview process, you will be asked to prepare a research project that displays your knowledge of the sector and demonstrates your commitment to the course.

Entry decisions will be discretionary at interview. Students will continually be assessed through probation period to ensure they are on the correct level.

How will I be assessed?

You will create a portfolio of your work based on the skills you develop at Fountains or Fusion and your tutor will mark this as you complete each task. Each unit is delivered individually, so you can work at your own pace and be assessed when you feel ready.

What can I do next

This qualification will prepare you for employment as a Beauty Therapist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a Beauty Massage Therapist.
