Microsoft Application for IT Users (Diploma), Level 2
ITQ is the leading IT qualification offered by City and Guilds and is suitable for anybody who uses IT whether at home or at work. The flexible structure and assessment methods of the City and Guilds ITQ means that it is it suitable for those with beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional skills. City and Guilds ITQ helps build skills and confidence in a range of IT areas including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Desktop Publishing, Presentation skills and Website Design. As well as building IT skills, if you are currently looking for work, the City and Guilds ITQ can also help you to become more employable with working knowledge of current IT programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook in both 2007 and 2010 versions and FrontPage 2003.
This level 2 qualification is suitable for those looking to enhance their existing IT skills and knowledge and provides learners with the basic skills and knowledge that could lead to further education in IT or related areas, as well as underpinning other educational sectors to higher levels of competency for those required to work independently or supervise others.
The level 2 qualification will allow learners to make use of predefined or commonly used IT tools for activities that are at times non-routine or unfamiliar, they will be able to devise solutions to use IT tools to improve productivity. Any aspect that is unfamiliar will require support and advice from other people.
There are two paths through the ITQ Level 2 for a full Qualification, the Certificate and the Diploma. Each path leads to a full qualification which involves you achieving a number of credits from each optional unit you undertake, along with the one mandatory unit -Improving Productivity Using IT.
At Level 2 iTQ, students should have a good understanding and knowledge of Office applications, and have achieved at Level 1 iTQ or similar.
How will I be assessed?
All assignments are undertaken in the Training Unit and involve using a computer and the skills you have learnt.

iTQ is a recognised entry qualification for work in the general employment sector, and is commonly a basic requirement for most employers. This covers a very wide range of jobs and career opportunities.
When you have completed the Certificate or Diploma iTQ at Level 2 you can choose to progress onto the Certificate or Diploma in iTQ at Level 3
