AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Level 3

Course overview

Accounting Technicians are the dedicated support staff who are employed to prepare the financial information which professional accountants or business managers use when giving financial advice or making decisions.

This is the intermediate stage to achieving full Accounting Technicians status. You will learn and master financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts, VAT issues in business, management accounting costing techniques and ethical practices for accountants. You will also gain software skills through spreadsheet training for accounting.

This course is being delivered on the AQ2022 syllabus.

APPRENTICESHIP OPTION
AAT Foundation Level 2 and Advanced Level 3 can also be completed as an apprenticeship for which we have exceptionally high completion rates and your employer can use their levy.

DELIVERY INFORMATION
This course is delivered on-site in Worcester on Thursday 9.30am - 4.45pm (split between face to face delivery and via Teams), or Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6.00pm - 9.15pm via Teams only.

STAFF EXPERIENCE
Our AAT delivery team between them have many years of both Accountancy teaching and commercial accounting experience, in both local and international companies. Professionally qualified in CIMA, ACCA, AAT and at MBA level, our tutors also use their knowledge broadly, for example, as professional accounting authors and supporting Apprenticeship students in the workplace. Our aim is to use our experience and knowledge to support every student to achieve their learning aim and we are very proud of our continued high pass rate at every Level of AAT.

Entry requirements

AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting, Level 2.

Course Modules

The Level 3 course covers a range of key areas, including:

- Financial accounting: preparing Financial statements
- Management accounting techniques including spreadsheets
- Business Awareness
- Tax processes for businesses

Computer based exams for all modules.

What can I do next

Successful completion of this course will allow you to progress onto the AAT Diploma for Accounting Technicians, Level 4. The skills and knowledge you will gain throughout this qualification will qualify you for roles including Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant and Bookkeeper. You will also be eligible for AAT Bookkeeper (AATQB) status, giving you the option to work as a freelance bookkeeper.
